Dedicated Server Build - March 19, 2010
BinghamtonTechs is proud to announce the award of a dedicated server contract. The dedicated server is being finalized right now and should be in production within the new few weeks or so. It bill boast AMD's brand new Six-Core processors, on a supermicro diual processor motherboard, with a total of 12 cores, and 12GB of ram, We will post pictures all through the build process.

BinghamtonTechs is going Green
- We are making strides to ensure that we do everything possible to preserve the enviroment. Starting with recycling all shipping products that we receive like cardboard, packing peanuts, and plastic. We also introduced a new innitive to recycle old, unused or unfixable computer's for free.
- We have signed up for a green initive through the power company. Receiving green credits for each KwH that we use. Our datacenter used to run the website is green verified and is a carbon neutral project meaning our website will not have any effect on the environment.
- You will also notice the new green verified badges placed on the website. They were purchased from buying green addons on the website that will allow them to plant more tree's and green energy certificates.
- In addition to recycling and our website, the entire office utilizes CFL and flourescent lightbulbs to reduce wattage and overall energy consumption. We use only the greenest technology in our computers. From utilizing black edition processors, which reduce the wattage by half, to turning monitors, laptops off when not in use. All computers are also set to standby, except for the company server which must remain on at all times.
- All newer computer builds are also built with the newest, greenest practices available. All pre-built computers as built with Antec Trupower PSU's which are 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified. Processors that use half the wattage, and motherboards that contain no mercuty. We encourage customers to use SSD (solid state drives) over standard hard drives, as they have no moving parts, and thus require no energy to function.
- In a recent case study Fusion-io, manufacturers of the world's fastest Solid State Storage devices, managed to reduce the carbon footprint and operating costs of MySpace data centers by 80% while increasing performance speeds beyond that which is was attainable by multiple hard disk drives in Raid 0.
